CoreHealth Wellness Center

Questions

The answers we give every day.

Real questions from people considering CoreHealth. Whether you're wondering about insurance, how many visits you'll need, or what to bring, we've got straight answers.

Visits & Logistics

Do I need a referral to visit CoreHealth?

No. In Texas, you do not need a referral from an MD to see a chiropractor. You can schedule directly with us — just call (214) 219-3300 or book online.

Do you accept walk-ins?

We do not guarantee same-day walk-in service, but if we have availability, we will see you. For a reliable appointment, especially a first visit (which requires 60 minutes), book ahead by calling (214) 219-3300 or using our online booking.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy movement — think yoga pants or athletic wear. Avoid heavy denim, multiple layers, or restrictive clothing. During treatment, you'll remain fully clothed; we may ask you to remove shoes or a jacket. Wear whatever lets us observe your posture and movement clearly.

What should I bring to my first visit?

Bring a photo ID and current insurance card (if you have coverage). If you have any recent imaging — X-rays, MRI, ultrasound — bring those or have the ordering doctor's office send them to us ahead of time. Otherwise, come as you are.

Do you have parking?

Yes. Free visitor parking is in the garage at the back of the 3500 Oak Lawn building. Pull around to the rear entrance, park in a marked visitor space, and walk into the lobby. From there, take the elevator to the 6th floor. Total time from car to our door: about 2 minutes.

Your First Visit & Treatment

What should I expect on my first visit?

First visits are 60 minutes. We start with a detailed consultation about what brought you in, your medical history, and what life activities matter most to you. Then we perform a thorough examination — orthopedic tests, movement screens, and any imaging we need. Most first visits include an initial treatment if appropriate. You'll leave with a clear sense of what's going on and what the next few weeks look like.

How many visits will I need?

That depends entirely on your case. Many acute injuries resolve in three to six visits. Chronic conditions or posture-related issues may take longer. We avoid the 'package deal' model. Instead, we reassess every few weeks and only recommend visits that make sense for your progress. We'll give you a realistic timeline before the second appointment.

Do you treat athletes and sports injuries?

Yes. We work with runners, cyclists, golfers, CrossFit athletes, and team sport players. Many use us for injury recovery, performance optimization, and injury prevention. We understand sports demands and can tailor care to get you back to training safely.

Are kids welcome? What about prenatal care?

Yes to both. We treat children and pregnant patients regularly. If you're bringing a child, please let us know at booking so we can plan accordingly. Prenatal chiropractic care can reduce back pain, improve pelvic alignment, and prepare your body for labor. We use pregnancy-specific techniques and comfortable positioning.

Can you work with my MD or physical therapist?

Absolutely. We collaborate regularly with primary care doctors, orthopedists, and physical therapists. We communicate about your care, share findings, and coordinate treatment. Bring any relevant reports or imaging from other providers to your first visit.

Insurance & Payment

Do you accept insurance?

We are typically out-of-network with most major insurance plans. However, we provide detailed superbills for out-of-network reimbursement — you can submit these to your insurance and often receive 40–70% of our fees back, depending on your plan. We also accept HSA/FSA cards. Call us to verify your specific plan's coverage before your first visit.

What about HSA and FSA cards?

Yes, we accept both HSA and FSA cards. Chiropractic care is an eligible medical expense under both plan types.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), HSA/FSA cards, bank transfers, and cash. We do not require payment at time of service — we bill after treatment.

What if I have an auto accident or personal injury case?

We accept medical liens for auto accident cases and personal injury claims. We work directly with your attorney to document your care and submit liens. No out-of-pocket cost to you — your attorney handles billing once your settlement is reached. Just let us know when you schedule.
