Spinal Health
Comprehensive spine care in Dallas — adjustments, decompression, and soft-tissue therapies for lasting relief.
Your spine is the structural and neurological center of your body. When it's healthy—properly aligned, moving smoothly, free from irritation—you feel strong and pain-free. When it's not, pain and dysfunction spread throughout your body. At CoreHealth Wellness Center in Dallas, we take spinal health seriously, using modern techniques to restore proper alignment, mobility, and function. Most cases resolve in 3–6 visits; long-standing patterns take longer but show steady progress.
Why spinal alignment matters
The spine isn't just bone—it's bone, disc, ligament, muscle, and nerve all working together. When vertebrae shift out of alignment (what chiropractors call subluxation), they restrict motion, irritate nerves, and disrupt muscle function. The nervous system misfires. Muscles compensate and tighten. Pain develops. Function declines. Restoring proper alignment reverses this cascade: nerves quiet, muscles relax, pain resolves, and function returns.
Chiropractic adjustments for spinal health
An adjustment is a controlled force applied to a spinal joint that's either locked (immobile) or misaligned. We use several techniques: diversified adjustments (hands-on, high-velocity for quick restoration of motion); drop-table adjustments (gentler, using a specially designed table); low-force activator technique (a small instrument for sensitive cases); and sustained mobilization (gradual stretching and pressure). The technique chosen depends on what your body needs and what you're comfortable with. Every adjustment is preceded by examination and explanation.
Spinal decompression therapy
Decompression is particularly effective for disc-related problems. Using a specialized table, we gently stretch and relax the spine intermittently. This creates negative pressure within the spinal discs, which can encourage herniated disc material to retract and reduces pressure on irritated nerves. The process is painless and deeply relaxing. Most people find it more comfortable than lying still in an MRI machine. A typical course is 8–12 sessions over 4–6 weeks.
Soft-tissue therapy and massage
Muscles surround and support your spine. When tight, they restrict motion and create pain. When relaxed, your spine can move freely. We use several soft-tissue approaches: deep-tissue massage (broad, sustained pressure releasing tight muscles); trigger-point release (focused pressure on specific pain points); IASTM (instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, using specialized tools to break up scar tissue); and stretching (active and passive techniques restoring range of motion). Most people notice immediate relief and improved mobility.
Complementary therapies for spinal health
We pair adjustment with other therapies based on what the case needs. Hydrotherapy (warm water on a roller bed) relaxes muscles before adjustment. Intersegmental traction decompresses the spine and increases mobility. Cold-laser therapy reduces inflammation. Corrective exercises build stability and prevent recurrence. Postural correction addresses the patterns that caused the problem. These work together to create lasting change.
Conditions that improve with spinal care
Back pain (lower, mid, upper), neck pain, whiplash, herniated discs, sciatica, pinched nerves, headaches, joint pain, sports injuries, postural problems, chronic pain, and pain after surgery. We also help athletes with performance and prevention and help people recovering from accidents or motor vehicle injuries.
What to expect in treatment
Your first visit is 60 minutes: thorough history, comprehensive physical exam, and detailed explanation of what we found and what we recommend. Subsequent visits are 20–30 minutes depending on the plan. You'll notice changes fast: pain usually decreases within the first week; motion improves progressively; function returns as alignment improves. We re-evaluate every 2–3 visits and adjust based on real progress.
Long-term spinal health
Lasting relief requires maintaining proper alignment and movement patterns. We teach posture, provide home exercises, and recommend periodic maintenance visits (a few times a year) to catch problems before they become chronic. This preventive approach keeps your spine healthy long term.
